Information

The scientific name of the nectarine is Prunus Persica Nectarina and differs from the peach tree since the nectarine is smooth skinned. The nectarine came from an ocular mutation of the peach and became known in Greece in 100 BC. In fact, has derived from a mix of peach and apple. An ideal place of cultivation is mainly the central and western Macedonia, where the specific soil and the climatic conditions favour the growth of this fruit.

The nectarine contains fibers potassium, vitamin C and E. Potassium is involved in the nerve function and to the regulation of the pressure, while vitamins C and E are powerful antioxidants that strengthen the immune system.
